MCHS Open for Saturday Tours - July 23,
On Saturday, July 23 the Mower County Historical Society will be open
for tours, 11am - 2pm. The first tour starts at 11am, the second
tour will start around 12:30pm. Reservations are appreciated, but
not necessary. Don't miss your chance for a tour with MCHS
Curator, Jaimie Timm! Regular tour rates apply. Reservations
appreciated at 437-6082.

The 2016 Mower County Fair
Mower County Fair is right around the corner! The Fair runs August 9-14.
Most historical society buildings will be open from
1pm-8pm (Sunday: 1pm-5pm). Be sure
to see some of our new exhibits and visit the annual Antique Tractor
Show held in the Ag Building. We
also need an army of volunteers to help during Fair Week, let us know if
you’d like to help!
Lunchbox History Series
Lunchbox History Series will start in April and run through October.
The event is held the 4th Thursday of every month at
noon. Bring a lunch and
enjoy a lecture or presentation about various local history topics in
our Pioneer Building. Check

History Happy Hour at the Hormel Historic
also continuing in our sponsorship of the History Happy Hour at the
Hormel Historic Home. Join
us at 6 pm (social time starts at 5:30) the second Monday of each month.
Event is free to members of MCHS, the HHH, and the Friends of the
Library. $5 cover charge
for all non-members. Free
snacks and a cash bar is available during the presentation.
MCHS Research Library
This is also a great time of the year to do some historical research,
and our research library and archives are open from 10:00am to 4:00pm
Tuesday-Friday. Our staff is always happy to assist researchers, but
please call ahead to ensure a staff member will be available to assist
